2015/Spring/Bachelor work "Translation"
 
Extended from "translation experiment",
the main idea of this series is focusing on the adoption of translation.
 
Using brass tube to imply the presence of our language and culture carrier, whereas brass wires simply presents as translation it self.

以彎彎曲曲的管狀半載體,代表了文化語言的多樣性
而在這個階段,代表翻譯的線段也只是低調簡單的連結著

First collection "character"  represents the status between diversity of languages/culture carriers and humble form of traslation.

在這個階段,我放大了檢視語言文化載體以及翻譯的關係,找到其最簡式.
而在這個部分放大原本的翻譯線段, 成為面體,帶著觀者一起仔細分析關係的樣貌.

For the second collection, the form of the link between tubes and wires simplified from the first collection.
It presents their relation is not as complicated as we thought.

認同系列主要發展自前兩個系列,以物件元素來呈現作者的心理狀態.
回到臺灣後,時常在兩個文化與語言間感到不知所措,
而這樣的困頓,在哲學家德希達的"他者的單與主義"中,找到了解答.
也許是生存在被殖民的語境下,我的喜怒快樂都是以這個語言在我的腦海中呈現.
於是在這個系列中,將這種困住的,非自然的方向性,以物件演繹出來.
 
3/identity
 
Developing from previous collections, "identity" imply personal aspect toward translation and complexity of identity recognition.
This collection was inspired by Jacques Derrida "Monolingualism of the Other or, the Prosthesis of Origin".
 
At this stage, the wire got amplified to a two dimensional lines, and it was stuck between those tube carrier.  
After returning from a year abroad, I found myself in a new state, struggling between two cultural influences. 
It was frustrated while I built this series, and I'd like to share it with the viewers.
